K9 Advantix (Bayer)
Imidacloprid & Permethrin
K9 Advantix is a protective monthly topical multi-use parasiticide treatment for dogs. It prevents adult fleas, mosquitos and ticks from feeding off of your pet and also helps to control lice infestations. It specifically targets common species of ticks such as the deer tick, the American dog tick, the lone star tick, and the brown dog tick.
- Quick Acting: Effects can be observed in as little as five
minutes, with nearly 100% of fleas killed within 12 hours of application
- Long Lasting: one dose prevents future flea and tick
infestations for one whole month.
- Versatile: Provides coverage against a wide array of
parasites including ticks, fleas and mosquitos. This protects your pet from
potential bacterial disease, tapeworms, Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted
fever, tick paralysis and flea allergy dermatitis.
- Controls Lice
- Robust: Maintains ability to kill fleas/ticks and repel
mosquitos even after repeated swimming.
- Repels fleas in addition to killing them
How It Works
The active ingredients, imidacloprid and permethrin, are infused in the oil glands of treated dogs. Imidacloprid is then transmitted to fleas on contact or through ingestion; at which point, it damages the flea’s central nervous system to the point of death. Permethrin both repels and kills ticks as well as mosquitos by binding to the nerves of these insects, paralyzing and ultimately killing them.
Prior to application, remove the dog’s collar and ensure that you have the proper sized dose for your pet.

With the correct applicator, hold the applicator tube in the upright position and pull off the cap. Flip the cap over, and press/twist the other end of the cap back on the tube to break the seal. Then, remove the cap.
Evenly apply the entire tube of K9 Advantix in 3 or 4 spots along the dogs back starting at the shoulder blades and ending at the hips. Make sure to part the hair and apply as close to the skin as possible when doing this.
There is no need to manually spread or rub the solution into the skin. The dog’s movements will naturally spread the solution around.
